The figure "Paukenträger" as part of the famous "Monkey Chapel" by Johann Joachim Kaendler testifies to the masterful craftsmanship for which the first MEISSEN model master is so famous. The monkey as a motif was very trendy at that time, 1753. Each of the total of 21 collectible figures is hand-painted in great detail, each monkey has its own unique charm. While the whimsical orchestra plays music, the "timpanist" carries his timpani quite comfortably. Since hand-painted, each figure is unique and therefore especially appealing to collectible figure lovers. To commemorate the outstanding craftsmanship of the great Kaendler, the monkey chapel was newly created by modeller Silke Ebermann on the occasion of the 310th anniversary of the manufactory.
