Peter Strang created the fairy-tale figurine "Sleeping Beauty" in 1998 out of Meissen porcelain. The 10cm high sleeping beauty is presented using simple geometric shapes. Her hair is made of beads and her hands are made of rectangles. The figurine is artfully decorated with hand-painted roses. This cheerful fairy tale figurine, contrary to the Grimm's original, is a real eye-catcher thanks to numerous details. Peter Strang interprets the Grimm's fairy tales in a humorous, funny way. According to his maxim, he pushes the limits of what is possible with porcelain. The at times sinister appeal of the traditional tales into cheerful figurines with childlike simplicity. The striking style of the collection is inspired by Expressionism. Therefore the fairy-tale figurine is a y special gift for Christmas.
